Fabric Passion
Forum Moderator: Dana Lacy Chapman, Ph.D.
Dana has a Ph.D. in
Clothing and Textiles, earned from the Ohio State University. She taught
Clothing Construction, Tailoring, Textiles and various Fashion courses
at the University of Akron in Ohio for 10 years during the 1980's.
Dana's quilts and wearables have received national recognition with
awards in juried and judged competitions such as the Denver National
Quilt Festival, Mid-Atlantic and Pacific International Quilt Festivals,
Quilts-Art-Quilts, Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza, Quilter's
Heritage Celebration, the American Quilter's Society Contest and Show,
The International Quilt Festival. She has also had quilts in several art
exhibitions.
She has appeared in and had several ensembles in the Hobbs Fashion Show
at the American Quilter's Society Contest and Show in Paducah, KY. She
was a designer for the 2005 and 2008 Bernina Fashion Shows.
Dana's work has also been published in "Quilter's Newsletter Magazine,"
"Through the Needle," "Quilting Quarterly," and "America from the
Heart."
Before coming to eQuilter, Dana was employed at a fabric and sewing
machine dealership in Richardson, TX where she taught many quilting
classes. She also lectured and gave workshops for guilds in Texas,
Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
