We're all so familiar with the classic tartans that they give us a sense of security and continuance. These timeless plaids were originally developed by various Scottish clans and represent family kinships. The way the checks are laid out can give information about who owns the land, and where a family who is wearing the plaid descends from. Although we don't give it much thought, a great deal of creativity goes into conceiving a huge variety of plaids, from the very small gingham to the larger checked patterns, sometimes with as many as twenty colors! Yarn-dyed, plaid repeat is about 5 1/2", 100% cotton, from the 'Tartan Plaid' collection, machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Made in India.
