Punctuation - Storybook Illustrations 1900 Stripe - Red
White Lemon, Orange, Blush, Lime, Leaf, Bahama Blue, Brown, Grey, Black, Red
Large scale stripes are delineated with old fashioned strings of paper tickets. These vignettes of children wearing cloths from the early 1900's, are done using a contour line and flat hues that were part of the style due to the printing process from that time. Illustrators were required to do all the color separations, so flat colors and a limited palette created an identifiable style related to the technical aspects of printing that were used at that time. Wider stripes are about 7 1/4", from the 'Punctuation' collection by American Jane Patterns Sandy Klop for Moda Fabrics.
