The mythical Phoenix, a symbol of transcendence and hope, rises majestically from the ashes in this stunning Asian inspired quilt pattern. Fabric requirements: border - 3/8 yd of navy; background - 5/8 yd of navy; binding - 1/3 yd of crimson; backing - 7/8 yd of navy; 1/3 yd for swirl appliqué and inside border; appliqué details - fat quarters of various shades of crimson, burgundy, deep mauve, gold, light gold, metallic gold and blue. Additional materials needed: black pigma pen, or black embroidery floss for the eye; lightweight batting - 46"x 36"; lightweight fusible web - 1 yd; appliqué pressing sheet; stabilizer; and an assortment of threads.
