The bright colors over a black background makes this quilt a real eye-catcher. The transitions of the star circles that are placed around the lone star, starts a few spikes before the curve is closed and makes a nice color transition to the next star circle. Fabric requirements: 3 1/2 yds for background; for the stars and spikes you will need 2" strips from 16 or 26 different fabric from the following 8 color groups - yellow, orange, red, fuchsia, purple, cobalt, dark green, light green; 2 1/2 yds for the backing and sleeves; 60" x 60" of batting; foundation and pattern paper; water erasable pen; needles, thread and thimble.
