This wonderful reproduction panel from the Winterthur Museum reflects the beauty of challis shawl designs common to the late 1800's in America. These fabulous birds perched in a equally fantastic tree use the muted colors that would have been achieved from the natural dyes available at the time. 24" panel, larger birds are about 5", panels have two 12" tall rows with eight vertical columns of birds in each, two of the eight columns of birds can be seen in the large image, from the 'Winterthur Museum' collection by John Hewson for Andover Fabrics.
