Stitchery samplers have a fascinating history as we look at beautiful examples of needlework created by unknown women for whom sewing played a large part in their lives. This quilt honors that past with a beautiful combination of patchwork and appliqué. Material requirements include: 1 1/4 yd background; 3/4 yd background; 7/8 yd background; 1 1/8 yd background; 26 assorted colors 5" x 5" each for letters; 16 assorted scraps up to 7" x 7" for acorns flowers and vines; 16 assorted colors 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" squares for diamonds; 10 assorted colors 3" x 3" for numbers; 28 assorted colors up to 8" x 8" for trees, house, picket fences and top woven rick-rack; 50 assorted colors, 2 each 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" of each color for inner color side borders; 10" x WOF for outer border.
