This winter landscape features a horse drawn sleigh and a covered bridge. On the hillside is a farmhouse and barn with lots of frosty snowfall and evergreens. Snowball blocks are paper pieced for the background, but can be modified to your favorite technique. The appliqué pieces are done with the fusible technique. Lots of wonderful hints are included to make your project quick and fun to do. Fabric requirements include: assorted fat 1/8's for the block background; 35 sheets 8 1/2 x 11 lightweight tear away stabilizer for paper piecing; 4-6 1/4 or 1/2 yd pieces for snow appliqué; 1/2 yd for ruts in road; 1/2 yd of white for road; 8-10 fat 1/8's for evergreens; scraps of fabric for covered bridge, barn, house, sleigh, horse, pond, 1/4 yd for inner border, 1/2 yd for outside border; 1/3 yd for binding; 1 1/4 yd for backing; 38" x 48" of thin batting; 3-5 yds of Steam a seam II; teflon pressing sheet for appliqué; magic tape; and a variety of matching sewing and quilting threads.
