Common uses for YLI Fusible Thread: Basting, Appliqué, Matching plaids, Binding quilts. Advantages of YLI Fusible Thread over the competition: Lighter weight - It will work in the machine needle; Steam disintegrates the thread, yet the seam or appliqué stays fused, eliminating the extra bulk associated with other fusible threads; Less expensive. To activate: Press from the topside of the stitch; never allow the iron to touch the fusible thread directly. Use a steam iron set for the upper heat range for the fabric you are using. Allow the fused piece to cool before working with it further. Although YLI Fusible forms a secure bond: it will come apart when pulled with force
