This traditional design featuring ageless motifs, crests and stylized Japanese calligraphy placed atop kimono silhouettes, will be a very special addition to your stash of out of the ordinary fabrics due to the ancient use of a rice paste resist technique that was used to create the design. This technique, also called tsutugaki, means that rice paste is brushed through a stencil and the cloth is then dipped in a cold vegetable dye. Great for home dec projects as well as for your quilts, these elegant kimono frames can be fussy cut or made into pillows, shams or throws. 30" panel, rice paste resist on a loose weave light weight canvas fabric. Frames are about 7" x 5 1/2", panel includes 20 frames, from the 'Kyoto Yuzen' collection from E.E. Schenck. Imported from Japan.
