Surrounded by her tools and chain stitching the squares that make up the border, this design gives you lots of opportunity to dive into your scrap bag and use the fancy stitches on your machine. Trace the design for the face and hands, and finished with fine line markers, colored pencils, or hand embroidery. Fabric requirements include: 5/8 yd for upper background; 1/3 yd lower background; Fat 1/8th for hands and face; 9" x 21" of ten or twelve different prints or solids for pieced borders and appliqued chain stitched squares; 1/3 yd for binding; 1 yd quilt backing.
