This pattern is one in a series of 12 birds that are made using appliqué and traditional piecing techniques. This series is designed to create beautiful hangings for yourself or as gifts. The 12 Bird patterns work well individually as 20" x 20" wall hangings, or you can create an entire 64" x 80" quilt. Fabric requirements include a variety of pieces no larger than 4" x 11" for the appliqué (bird, branch and leaves); 11" x 11" for the inner diamond; 9" x 18" for triangles; 1/4 yd for a border; 14" x 14" of Steam a Seam Lite 2; 1/4 yard for the binding; 22" x 22" of backing fabric; 23" x 23" of batting; and the appliqué pressing sheet.
