Aloha Album - Hawaiian Applique Pattern - 17 Blocks
Finished Size - 88" x 106"
This stunning quilt contains 17 blocks that have been designed in the "Baltimore Album" style, but use the tropical images found in the Hawaiian Islands. When New England missionaries arrived in the Hawaiian Islands during the early to mid-1800s, they brought the unexpected influence of their quilt patterns. "Baltimore Album" quilts were popular during this time and it was this block style that Hawaiian women adapted into the large applique quilts that we know today as "Hawaiian Quilts". Blending East Coast influence with tropical Hawaiian images, this quilt will transport you to a place you hold close to your heart! Fabric requirements include: 8 1/2 yards background fabric; 1 1/4 yards binding fabric; various pieces for leaves, flowers, and other design elements; 7 1/2 yards backing fabric; and 90" x 108" batting piece. Aloha Album pattern, finished size is about 88" x 106", designed by Nancy Lee Chong.
