42" x 42", includes coordinating 21" block
Hawaiian quilts are visually complex, yet very easy to make. A Lei is a circle without beginning or end. It is a wreath of flowers draped around the neck presented upon arriving or leaving as a symbol of affection. Choose two contrasting fabrics for your quilt top, and a coordinating print for the backing. Pattern recommends using 100% polyester bonded batting to show off the echo quilting rows. Fabric requirements include: 1 1/4 yard appliqué fabric; 1 1/4 yard background fabric; 1/2 yard binding fabric; 1 1/4 yard backing fabric; 44" square batting. Woodland Lei (Lei Nahele) pattern, finished size is about 42" x 42". Designed by Nancy Lee Chong from Pacific Rim Quilt Company.
