Here is a detail from Katalin Horvath’s “Aquaman” quilt, in the
Superhero and Comic category at Houston. The exhibit was full of superheroes
who fight for what’s right, and protect the innocent. There were some of these
quilts that I only knew about…because I have kids. “Adventure
Time”, the TARDIS, Zelda, Black Panther and Batman all made an appearance
here.
I think we live in a time where we and our kids need to be inspired by
superheroes. I applaud the quilters who contributed to this category. You made
me smile.
You will find my first
batch of photos from Houston here on my photo page. Please
feel free to share!
This week we have 2 video interviews with Jacqueline
de Jonge, from her visit to our classroom. Jacqueline is from the
Netherlands, and travels around the world teaching her special piecing
techniques. She is known for her brilliant color sense, and on top of that she
is a lovely human being.

Today I am traveling to Tucson for the Color Marketing Group annual conference.
This is a collaborative event where color trend experts gather from around the
world, to forecast color palettes that will affect design choices over the next
few years. Then I bring that forward vision back to eQuilter, to plan our
buying for the next year.
