I’ve just uploaded another big batch of photos from the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham UK<\/a>, and as I browsed through the images, this quilt by Oksana Mader (Kaleidoscope of Life and Love<\/a>) really caught my eye…particularly the central star of Purple<\/a> and Orange<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Tis the season for Purple<\/a> People and Orange<\/a> Lovers, because it is Halloween and Harvest Time. So I am featuring the central detail of Oksana’s lovely quilt, with a seasonal collage of purple and orange prints.<\/p>\n

How do Purple<\/a> People satisfy their Amethyst<\/a> Urges?<\/p>\n

They travel to walk through fields of Lavender.
\nThey plant rows of Lilacs and Hydrangeas.
\nThey pause to admire the Mauve of Twilight.
\nThey drink Blackberry Milkshakes.
\nThey watch The Color Purple<\/a>, and listen to Prince.
\nThey can’t decide between the 2014<\/a> and 2015<\/a> Color of the Year.<\/p>\n

How do Orange<\/a> Addicts satisfy their thirst for Tangerine<\/a>?<\/p>\n

They hang out in pumpkin patches.
\nThey collect Autumn leaves.
\nThey spread marmalade on their toast.
\nThey adopt ginger cats.
\nThey wonder… is Orange<\/a> really the new Black?
\nThey still can’t believe Tangerine<\/a> was the 2012 Color of the Year!<\/p>\n

Enjoy the delights of the season, and give yourself permission to try some crazy color combinations.
\nYou just might find out that you are a Color Genius!<\/p>\n
