We are still buzzing with the excitement from the Solar Eclipse which was at 93% coverage here in Boulder on Monday. One of our eQuilter staff took the day off to travel up to Wyoming, braving the traffic and crowds, to experience the Path of Totality. He said despite the hassle of getting there, the experience of Total Eclipse was amazing, and he’d do it again!<\/span><\/p>\n

There are magical, amazing, inspiring things that happen around us every day…we just have to watch for them. For instance this quilt by quilter Montse Forcadell Blasco – “Lib\u00e9lula” (Dragonfly) – which I fell in love with at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham. She is in Catalonia in Spain, west of Barcelona.<\/p>\n

A dragonfly landing on a sunflower becomes a symphony of complementary colors (Purple\/Yellow and Blue\/Orange) made with applique and then densely machine stitched. Montse’s colors remind me of the mosaics by Antoni Gaudi, in Barcelona’s Park G\u00fcell.<\/a><\/p>\n

I’ve set the quilt in a collage frame of Dragonfly<\/a> and Flower prints<\/a> that we have in stock now.<\/span><\/p>\n
