Lapis Blue, Turquoise, Amethyst, Emerald, Garnet, Carnelian and Gold reflect the semiprecious & precious stones and metals that were valued in Ancient Egypt.

Cleopatra’s favorite gem was Emerald<\/a><\/strong>, and ancient Egyptians highly valued personal adornment. Egyptian jewelry was worn by women and men, from all social classes, especially after gold was discovered so their multicolored gemstones could be set in precious gold.

The kaleidoscope pieced blocks in this quilt design<\/a><\/strong> are set on point, and the papyrus stripe makes a detailed border. You will see the influence of Egyptian art and jewelry expressed in these detailed fabrics.
