\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThings are not always as they seem. Would you\nbelieve that this is a 12″ x 12″ miniature framed quilt?

\nAt the Tokyo Quilt Festival they do not have a Miniature Quilt category.\nInstead they have a Framed Quilt category which is miniature quilts in frames.

\nThis little beauty is so finely pieced, it just boggles the mind. For those of\nus who love piecing quilts, this kind of precise work is a special kind of\nchallenge…or a special kind of crazy? But we love oohing and aahing over all\nkinds of amazing mind-blowing quilts, don’t we?

\nThe artist’s name was not spelled out so I pasted the tiny name card onto the\ntiny quilt image so she has credit where it is due!

\nThis morning I am flying to QuiltCon so I can present an award at the ceremony\ntonight in Austin Texas. I will be walking the show Thursday and Friday so if\nyou see me there please do stop and say hello! I am also going to the SAQA\nevent Friday evening, so I hope to see many of you there.

\nI am going to be photographing the show so next week, for those of you who can’t\ngo in person, I’ll have images to share with you. I also have a cousin in\nAustin and we are going to get together and work on the family tree one night.\nWe have many ancestors who lived in Texas 100 years ago, so it seems\nappropriate to explore those branches of the tree while on this trip!

\nWe are preparing to cut the kits for MJ\nKinman<\/a>‘s Elizabeth\nDiamond<\/a> Workshop coming up March 6-8. (You can do the Rainbow Unicorn\nmulticolor – or the Classic Blue Diamond from our kits.) Those new products are\ngoing online in the next couple days, and if you purchase a kit and attend the\nclass, you can save on shipping and just pick it up in the classroom when you\narrive.

\nMJ is always a blast and we are so excited to have her returning\nto our eQuilter classroom<\/a>. Her Gemstone piecing is not quite as intricate\nas the tiny quilt featured above, but it is for Intermediate quilters or\nhigher. Hope you can join us!
