The winners of the International Quilt Festival in Houston were just announced, and we want to give a special congratulations to Roberta Lagomarsini, the winner of the $5000 eQuilter Master Award for Contemporary Artistry. Because the winners were announced so early, it means that there will not be an awards ceremony on Tuesday night before Festival opens. (In case you were wondering.)

It has been a bit of an emotional roller coaster week. After attending a funeral early this week, I found out another friend had died, but then heard that my international opera singer friend is at Carnegie Hall in November. (He debuted at the Met last Fall.) So we take life one day at a time, and celebrate when we can. I am sure you can relate.
