Creative Nudge – Purrfect Companion

LolaEyes

This one is for all of you who share photos of cats on Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram. We love sharing images of our own beloved cats, and we love clicking through pictures of cute, silly, grumpy, sleepy, playful kitties.

A couple weeks ago we brought home an adult female cat from the Humane Society. She had a cold so she had to be in quarantine in our bedroom for a week. This week she hid in the basement for several days, but today she came out to explore the rest of the house with great curiosity. She is now calmly walking past Ruby, our 15 month old Golden, and Titus our 10 year old naughty boy kitty. Thank goodness everybody is getting along because I leave for South Africa in 3 days! (Wait…what?!?)

Many of you love to share photos of your cats "helping" as you quilt – in fact many quilt exhibits stipulate that there can be NO cat hair on the quilts that are entered into shows and contests. Ha!

I am officially moved into my new studio downstairs at eQuilter, and we are shooting our first videos there today. Unfortunately my new studio cat Lola will have to stay in my home studio, but I am sure some quantity of cat hair will travel to work with me every day. She is a total lover-kitty, and we feel lucky to have found her waiting for us in a cage at the pound.

Yesterday I received a lovely surprise in the mail…a handwritten note from Rosalynn Carter following up on the Vail Retreat for the Carter Center. How exciting! I am sharing this in the folder of photos from my meeting with Pres. and Mrs. Carter a couple weeks ago. The invitation to the retreat came as a result of all the fundraising efforts we've put forth over the years, and I must share that honor with all of you who have supported our charity efforts over the years, including the 10,000+ quilts that have been donated for Mission of Love and disaster relief. Thank you!

sharing your Passion for Fabric…and Cats!
