Hello from Tuscon!

Hello from Tucson!
This weekend I am writing to you from the Color Marketing Group color trend forecasting conference in Tucson Arizona. As I write this note to you, I am preparing to go out with my camera to capture the colors and images in the desert this afternoon. The Saguaro cacti have particularly captured my imagination, so I hope to photograph the cactus landscape at sunset and share the images in our exclusive eQuilter digital fabric collections in the future. (and on my photo pages)

At the CMG events, we don’t just talk about color trends. We talk about the events, the social changes, and consumer trends that drive color trends. It can be a cerebral exercise, but it is also intuitive and FUN! I am so appreciative of the amazing tool we have at eQuilter – that by presenting over 1000 new products each month – we have our finger on the pulse of trends like no other business in our industry. We can put out a product group on the weekend and react on Monday, to restock the items that have captured your imagination. We see that YOU too are trendwatchers and you enjoy riding the wave of new colors and new ideas in design. Then we can react and give you even more of what you want. It is a lovely symbiotic dance.

One of the biggest consumer trends is corporate ethics – consumers seeking out companies who are operating with integrity and making the world a better place. As you know, this has been part of our mission since 2000, when we started our charity program. Through our business we have raised over $1.6 million for our list of 7 charities, and also for non-profit arts organizations. Through our close partnerships with our charity organizations, we have distributed over 14K comfort quilts that you have made and donated. Together, we have truly made a difference for thousands of people in need. I thank you deeply for your support of our charitable programs.

As an artist, designer and retailer, I have been passionate about color in my work and creative life…forever. It is such a joy to be able to share that passion with all of you through our company. It is also a thrill to identify or predict a trend, invest in that trend, and then see you respond to the trend with enthusiasm. To walk through the aisles of our warehouse year after year and see the results of trends and colors that we share, is a joy. I hope that you find as much joy in our products and our company ethics, as we have in serving you.

sharing your Passion for Fabric…
Luana and Paul
