Tonight I am writing to you from New Zealand, after spending the day with lots of talented enthusiastic Kiwi Quilters at the Quilt Symposium in Christchurch.
On Thursday I went to the WOW (World of Wearable Arts) show in Wellington, and I was truly blown away by this production. It is a wearable art contest, but has obvious ties to the film industry because it is full of fantastic costumes, and Cirque du Soleil-type dancers and sets.
I am flying to Rotorua NZ tomorrow to visit Hobbiton! I still can’t believe we got our Lord of the Rings fabric collection the same week I was on the LOTR studio & site tour here in NZ. I’ll be sharing photos from the quilt show and LOTR tours when I return home later next week.
We are opening up our eQuilter classroom to groups or individuals who would like to get together to sew comfort quilts, to be delivered by Mission of Love to those most affected by these recent hurricanes. WE WILL PROVIDE THE FABRIC!
Saturday 10/14 – 9 am to 4 pm – Blakeman Sewing Boulder providing machines.
Saturday 10/21 – 9 am to 4 pm – Presser Foot Longmont providing machines.

Kathy Price at MOL is preparing two 40-foot containers full of Humanitarian Aid for Dominica and Puerto Rico, but shipping the containers will cost $7500 each plus other packing/loading costs.
I have just made an extra donation to MOL to help pay for these shipping costs, but she has not raised the whole amount yet.
