Kiwi Hospitality

Oh my goodness what a crazy busy trip I've had in New Zealand! I am writing to you on Saturday night, and a taxi will pick me up at 5:45 am to go to the airport. Every day has been filled from top to bottom. I will leave New Zealand Sunday, fly all day and cross the International Date Line, and arrive in Honolulu Saturday night. It's just like time-travel! (Stopping to see Paul's mom on Oahu on the way back home.)

I toured the South Island for one week, traveling many hours and hundreds of kilometers each day, by bus, train and ferry, to see the amazing landscapes of this land that hosted Peter Jackson's filming of his Tolkien trilogies.

The last few days I have been in Palmerston North at the Manawatu Quilt Convention, which is a totally volunteer-produced event. I have seen many old friends from around the world, (quilt teachers who travel and teach) and have made many new friends. Kiwi hospitality is genuine and very sweet. I kind of feel like I time-traveled back to the Fifties, but in a *good* way.

I was told that 400 people came to my presentation, and half of them raised their hands when asked if they were eQuilter customers. So, THANK YOU to all our Kiwi customers who came out to hear me speak! I hope it was inspiring, and I hope you got a Creative Buzz from all the images of quilts from around the world!

For those friends and business associates who are wondering why the heck I have not answered my emails, I will arrive back in Colorado this Wednesday morning. Give me a day or so to catch my breath.

I'll work on editing and posting photos from the trip, after I get home. (Quilts, epic landscapes, and more…)
