One of the themes we really loved at Quilt Market was the Geek/Science/DNA trend, with a modern/retro twist. If you are a fan of Big Bang Theory and other science/nerdy stuff, you'll love how this category expands over the next several months!

With my background in fashion design, draping and patternmaking, I was fascinated by this year's costume exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Charles James is the designer in this year's new exhibit, which has been relocated to a new space in the museum. It is actually split between 2 spaces in the museum, which frankly is a little clunky, but we still enjoyed looking at his impeccably constructed silk confections up close. The more you know about couture construction and draping, the more you will appreciate this exhibit.

All 3 parts of our DAR Museum video tour are online now – you can find them all on our eQuilter video page. Watch for our video interview with Yvonne Porcella coming up on Tuesday.
