Quilts for Uvalde

This week the unthinkable happened in Uvalde, Texas. I have been in touch with a retired teacher in Uvalde who used to teach at Robb Elementary. In this town of 15,000 everyone is touched by this tragedy. It is not only the families who lost a child or parent. It is all the other children and staff who were in the building, and their families. It is the extended families who live in the community. It will take a long time for this community to be whole again.

So lets send them some love. In the form of comfort quilts and cash. As with all of our quilt drives, I ask you to send high quality quilts that are stitched with love. (Not tied blanket quilts) We want these to last a LONG time. And if you don’t have a quilt to send right away, please donate to the fund to support the children, the families, the school…the community.

I have spoken to Diana and I trust her to handle receiving the quilts. She is already running a community comfort quilt program for Uvalde. She is deeply embedded in the school and the town.

As always, if you want confirmation of receipt, send your package with a tracking number. A label or attached note with a message of love and support is priceless.

If you are in the Boulder area, you can drop off to eQuilter. If not please send directly to our contact in Uvalde so there is no delay.

Mail via UPS/FedEx only to:
Diana Bonnet
608 Ham Lane
Uvalde, TX 78801

~~~OR~~~
Mail via US Postal Service only, to her PO box:
Diana Bonnet
PO Box 2040
Uvalde, TX 78802
Diana and her group will be overwhelmed with receiving and unpacking all the packages, so please be respectful and do not contact her with questions. You can contact us by phone or email with any questions. 303-527-0856 or [email protected] or our online Chat.
We suggest large Lap/Nap quilts or small bed quilts. You can see examples of comfort quilts we have distributed to previous distressed communities, on these pages. eQuilter has gathered and distributed over 16,000 donated quilts over 23 years, with the help of Mission of Love and others.
This Memorial Day, we remember all those who have recently died in these horrific mass shootings. I hope our country finds a way to take action to stop these tragedies from happening again…we are still recovering from our mass shooting in Boulder 14 months ago. It hurts.
