Sewing Days Oct 14 & 21 for Disaster Relief – Update

Harvey, Irma, Maria…the destructive hurricane trio has done so much damage we still can’t fathom the losses. Many of you are calling and writing, asking what you can do to help.

eQuilter is gearing up for a massive comfort quilt project, in partnership with Mission of Love and 2 of our local BERNINA dealers who have graciously offered to supply machines for our sewing days.

If you can’t come to our eQuilter Classroom for Sewing Days, stay tuned for details about where to ship your donated quilts. You can drop off finished quilts in person at eQuilter, or we will give you an address soon for shipping.

We are opening up our classroom to groups or individuals who would like to get together to sew comfort quilts, to be delivered by Mission of Love to those most affected by these recent events. WE WILL PROVIDE THE FABRIC! Yes we have thread, batting and backing but we also welcome others who wish to donate sewing supplies and longarm sewing for this project.

Saturday 10/14 – 9 am to 4 pm – Blakeman Sewing Boulder providing machines.
Saturday 10/21 – 9 am to 4 pm – Presser Foot Longmont providing machines.

PLEASE call us (303-527-0856) or email Customer Service, and RSVP so we know how many sewing machines we need, how much coffee to brew, and how many cookies to bring for you! *smile*

If you live locally or if you are visiting, and you’d like to set up a single day or repeating sewing day please give us a call or email Customer Service.

I am in touch with Kathy Price at MOL tonight, and she is preparing two 40-foot containers FULL of Humanitarian Aid for Dominica and Puerto Rico, but shipping the containers will cost $7500 each plus other packing/loading costs.

She says “We have in both countries consignees on board who will make sure the aid will be received immediately and go into the country duty free…it is a huge undertaking but those in need will be serviced via our Mission of Love.”

If you can help Kathy to cover the cost of sending these containers, it would be a powerful and immediate use of your donated dollars.

Go to Mission Of Love NOW to make a donation for this urgently needed aid – thanks so much!!!
