We’re hitting our first round of 90+ degree weather here in Boulder this weekend. The Ironman Triathlon is here tomorrow, so it is a good day to stay home and work in my studio and my garden. (roadblocks all over town for the event.) Sophie took a cooking class last week so now she is all excited about planting basil, squash and heirloom tomatoes. I am brewing up big batches of Earl Grey and Bing Cherry iced tea (my current fav combo) for those long summer afternoons. You may recall we live next to the Celestial Seasonings Tea Factory …if you come to our classroom for a quilt retreat in the future, you will want to go check out their huge variety of flavors which don’t seem to make it into the grocery stores.
This week I booked my flights to Tanzania for New Years. (Great Migration on the Plains of the Serengeti) I plan to take lots of photos that will eventually turn into digital fabric designs. It will take me 33 hours to get there, so I am arriving a day early and doing a local textile tour. We still have a couple openings in case you want to join me!
Also we’ve had some queries about future Polar Bear tours. Since I am going to New Zealand and Africa later this year, I am doing the next Polar Bear tour in 2018. It will be the week before Thanksgiving.
Ocean Conservancy is one of our 7 designated charities. Perhaps some of you donate directly to this environmental organization. If you got their newsletter this last week, be sure to look for an article about eQuilter!
Our oldest son Mason got a new job with a music non-profit, and will be traveling more than me! If you see the Rockley Music Foundation having an event in your town, he is their new business manager and you can drop by and say hello. He is in Milwaukee this weekend, and will be in Dallas in a couple weeks. They sell all kinds of donated musical instruments to raise money for music scholarships…feel free to donate unused instruments to the cause! *smile*
Canadian quilter friends – I hope to see you at the Award Ceremony next Tues June 13 at 7 pm, and will also be at the show all day Weds June 14. Hope to see many of you there!
sharing your Passion for Fabric…
Luana and Paul
