When Life Throws a Curveball…

This week was definitely very non-quilt oriented because Sophie and I went to speak to the school board about all the kids and teachers who are being sickened by ongoing exposure to hydrogen-sulfide in the school building. After we pulled her out of the school, we spent more time at the hospital doing tests for a variety of toxic gases that have been repeatedly measured at the school.

The issue was on the front page of our paper the next day, and Sophie is starting at a new school Tuesday, but it has been a very frustrating week. The district keeps sending out letters to the parents saying everything is fine, and they are hoping to whitewash over our group's efforts to shine light on the situation. If you have friends in Boulder please send them to this page for more information.

As a result of this situation I am behind on everything else, so I am in the studio all weekend trying to catch up and enjoy a little Art Therapy. Never a dull moment!

This week I'll be at QuiltCon all day Friday, so maybe I will see there? If you spot me in the crowd, please do come and say hello! I love to meet our eQuilter friends and customers when I am at quilt events!

The following week I'll be in Mexico City giving my power point presentation "International Quilt Trends" on Thursday, and also judging the Fashion Show on Friday. I might give a presentation on Wearable Art as well… that is in the works.
