Inspired by Dia de los Muertos, this skeleton is ornately decorated in flowers, insects and wears a chain about her neck featuring a skull and crossbones created by fusing pieces of a variety of fabrics to a lightweight base. Laura Heine has included detailed instructions about her technique to guide you through the process and includes a full-size pattern. Material requirements include: (9) 5" x 11" cream fabrics with slight print and slight value changes for bones and teeth; (2) 3" x 22" Cream fabrics for long arm bones; (1) 12" x 11" fabric for skull (spiderweb); (17) 6" square to 5" x 11" black fabrics for backgrounds; (18 or more) cuttable fabrics for the collage including large florals or all sizes, birds, vines, bugs, skulls, motifs for in the hands and motifs to make the necklace; 8 yds of 12" wide Steam A Seam 2 (eQuilter product WAST5440); 1 yd pattern ease foundation: Applique pressing sheet or precision fusing mat; 3/4 yd backing fabric; 6" of fabric for 1/4" single fold binding.
