Cosmic Feathers is a modern take on the lone star design. The Small Throw has 24 feathers, while the Large Throw has 48 feathers. The 16 Color Version uses 16 Fabrics once within each feather, while the 8 Color Version uses 8 fabrics twice within each feather. The Scrappy Version is totally up to you, taking note that each 2" x 21" strip will show up as six diamonds within the quilt top. In addition to half yards, fat quarters, and fat eighths, the pattern includes instructions for using jelly roll strips or even fussy cutting single diamond pieces. Material Requirements for Small Throw Include: 16 Color Version - 16 Fat Eighths; 8 Color Version - 8 Fat Quarters; Scrappy Version - (64) 2" x 21" Strips; for all three versions - 2.75 yds background fabric, 72" x 72" batting, 4 yds backing, and 1/2 yd binding fabric(assuming 2.5" x WOF strips are used). For Large Throw: 16 Color Version - 16 Fat Quarters; 8 Color Version - (8) 1/2 yds pieces; Scrappy Version - (128) 2" x 21" Strips; for all three versions - 4.5 yds background fabric, 92" x 92" batting, 7.75 yds backing, and .7 yds binding fabric (assuming 2.5" x WOF strips are used).
