Special Issue

Quiltfolk Cats is a Quiltfolk special edition that was published with an introduction from Editor in Chief Breanna Briggs and a forward by artist Denyse Schmidt along with her feline friends George and Eliot. This issue reads more like a quilt exhibition in print - meaning it contains fewer words and features MORE quilts than a traditional issue of Quiltfolk, giving readers the opportunity to view a collection of carefully curated quilts that are sure to excite cat lovers everywhere. Featured on page 106 is a quilt called "Bedazzled" by artist Jackie OBrien featuring eQuilter's very own panel by Rubin Design Studio called Intricate Illustrated Kitty (RUINSPOR). This quilt showcases the panel at its center surrounded with Jackie's signature one-block-wonder design. For this special edition issue, readers were asked to submit their favorite quilts featuring cats as well as photos of cats with quilts. 44 entries were selected to be featured in this special collection! Quiltfolk Magazine, Special Issue: Cats 2025. 124 pages.
