The traditional smock worn by cheesemakers in Roquefort, France, falls in gathers from a band collar with a one-button front placket closing. Sleeves are gathered at the wrist into a buttoned band cuff. Shoulder yokes and an underarm gusset complete the typical construction. Our pattern adjusts to fit both men and women. Suggested fabrics: Crisp medium-weight fabrics such as gingham, broadcloth, muslin, lightweight corduroy, cotton homespun. Traditional smocks have small blue and white checks.
