This book is a companion to Women's Work, an art quilt by Lea McComas, that depicts small groups of women conversing, marching forward, or working together. Women from various time periods that may not have had the opportunity to know each other in real life, appear together because of a shared goal, ideal, or vocation. In total, 57 women are honored for their achievements in the fight for gender and racial equality, and the protection of human rights. This book shares the stories of each of these women, their histories, struggles, and appreciation for the significant contributions of women in our world.
